Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This policy covers learnagenticpatterns.com, our free educational platform for learning agentic AI design patterns, and Agentic AI — the Sparks video feed, Talk community, and News aggregator available at learnagenticpatterns.com/agentic-ai and as a native iOS/Android app. Both products share one account system, so signing up for either means this policy applies to both.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what each product needs to work:

• Account info — first name, email address, and a password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text). Learn Agentic Patterns also asks for your professional role and an optional free-text response about your challenges with agentic AI.
• Learning progress (Learn Agentic Patterns) — which patterns you've completed, assessment scores, game scores, and exercise submissions so we can track your progress and show leaderboards.
• Content you post (Agentic AI) — Talk posts and comments, and comments on Sparks. These are public — visible to anyone using the app — and attributed to your first name.
• Engagement data (Agentic AI) — which Sparks you watch, for how long, and your likes, saves, shares, and topic preferences. We use this only to personalize your own feed; it's tied to your account if you're signed in, or to an anonymous per-install identifier if you're not.
• Moderation reports (Agentic AI) — if you report a post, comment, or Spark, we record what you reported, why, and who it was reported against, so we can review it. See section 5.
• Feedback — lesson ratings and optional comments you submit to help us improve content.
• Technical data — IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention only, not stored long-term), device/browser type, and general usage analytics. On the mobile app, your session token is stored in the device's secure keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via Expo SecureStore), not in plain storage.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and personalize your experience (learning progress, leaderboards, your Sparks feed).
• Send you a welcome email and occasional product updates (you can unsubscribe anytime).
• Prevent abuse through rate limiting, spam detection, and content moderation.
• Improve content and recommendations based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

4. What We Never Do

• We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
• We never share your email with advertisers or marketing partners.
• We never use your data to train AI models.
• We don't run ads or ad-tracking SDKs in either product.

5. Content Moderation, Reporting & Blocking

Agentic AI's Talk community and Spark comments are public, user-generated content. To keep that safe:

• Every post and comment is automatically screened before publishing (using Google Gemini, see section 6) for hate speech, harassment, threats, and sexual content.
• You can report any post, comment, or Spark. Reports go into a review queue we check directly; we aim to review and act on reports within 24 hours.
• You can block another user at any time. Once blocked, you no longer see their posts or comments — this is one-directional and the blocked user isn't notified.
• We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small set of trusted services to run the platform:

• Resend — for sending transactional emails (welcome email, password reset).
• Vercel — for hosting and serving learnagenticpatterns.com.
• Railway — for hosting the Agentic AI application, its database, and generated video files.
• Google Gemini — Agentic AI uses Gemini to generate Spark video scripts and narration from public news sources, and to screen submitted posts/comments for objectionable content before they're published. Submitted text is sent to Google for this check only; it isn't used by us to train any model.
• PostgreSQL (Neon/Supabase/Railway) — for storing account, progress, and content data securely.

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and maintains industry-standard security practices.

7. Data Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage — we never store plaintext passwords. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted and requires authentication.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and all associated data yourself, at any time, from within either product (Profile → Delete Account) — no need to contact us.
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time.

9. Cookies & Local Storage

On the web, we use a single authentication token stored in your browser to keep you logged in. On the mobile app, the equivalent token lives in your device's secure keychain. Neither product uses tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies/SDKs.

10. Children's Privacy

Both products are designed for professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or a notice on the platform. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the latest version.
